Dunbar Villa operates as a well-known dive resort, with excellent diving and fishing right off the dock. The coral reef is 100% private and the island lends itself to the intimacy of a private island. Dunbar Rock is ideal for those who want to enjoy a private island holiday, yet want to be close to a major airport and all amenities.
Each of eight suites includes a full bath with walk-in shower, queen bed, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a private balcony. There is a dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's all included. After a long day of diving, relax in the living room with a DVD or at the rooftop bar and take in a panoramic island sunset.
Their PADI certified Instructor, Denis, is famous in the islands for his expertise and training. Ask about additional PADI certifications while you are on vacation. He offers private or group lessons to anyone wishing to update or renew training.

Banking is limited on the island of Guanaja. There is only one bank, Banco Atlantida, and no ATMs. It is recommended you carry cash, as traveler’s checks are not accepted, and cannnot be changed at the bank. Almost all establishments do not accept credit cards.
The only real city on the island is Bonacca, which is actually on a small cay a half mile off the main island of Guanaja. Perhaps best described as the "Venice of the Caribbean", Bonacca is home to more than 6,000 people all living on fewer than 100 acres. There are no streets, and certainly no cars or scooters. Even bicycles are prohibited. Everyone walks along sidewalks and paths. Many of the homes and businesses are on stilts out over the water and are three stories high. Just about everything you might need can be found in Bonacca if you are willing to look or ask. The locals all speak English, so it is easy to interact.

What an amazing dive location. The staff is amazing. The location is built on a rock of Granite in the ocean off of the remote island of Guanaja, near Honduras. Lots of coral, macro life, nurse sharks, swim-throughs, eagle rays, etc. Three boat dives a day with fantastic dive guides. The reef around Dunbar Rock is only 10 feet deep but it is teaming with life! Highly recommend!!!

Just returned from a phenomenal group trip to an incredible location. The Villa on Dunbar Rock is a must do. The staff that GM Jennifer has assembled is top shelf. From the amazing dive staff of Raynol, Kennet, & Chele, to the service staff of Reba, Adele, & Elsis, to the amazing chefs who prepared five star meals each and every time for three meals a day & snacks, Jose working the pool and grounds, Tarrsis overseeing the front desk, Jennifer’s assistant Jackie, and everyone else that helped us experience this hidden paradise.
During our groups week long stay, everyone made sure that we experienced some amazing scuba diving adventures.
The diving is excellent, with beautiful walls, pinnacles, wrecks, swim throughs, and reefs. The marine park was established three years ago so the marine life is slowly but surely coming back to life. The dive crew is doing great work, hunting lionfish. During our dives, lionfish were fed to nurse sharks & green moray eels. Only bummer was that we didn’t get to eat any :). Dunbar Rock highly recommended for any diver, looking for that new place to go...Dunbar Rock = 5 Stars!!
