Manava Beach Resort & Spa Diving
Moorea Blue Diving Center is the onsite SSI scuba diving facility. They do morning 2 tank (2-1 tank successive) dives and afternoon 1 tank dives. One Wednesdays and Saturday they offer sunset dives, and 1 night tank dives can be arranged depending on the size of the party. They also offer packages for up to 12 fun dives. Before you dive with them, they have you do an initial dive at the
Aquarium at Manava Beach Resort. They also have a coral nursery by the overwater bungalows.
So, they use a 28ft boat with a ladder for their dive excursions. There are over 15 dive sites along the north coast near most resorts. On the far western side we have
Taitea and
Tiki Point. On the far eastside we have
Temae with white sands and garden eels. In between, are
Bali Hai Wall, Blue Island, Rotui, Eden Pass, Lemon Shark Valley, Canyons, Opunohu, and
Tao Toi. Above all, if you are an advanced diver, you have to visit
Rose Gardens, which is a deep,120ft, plus drift dive.
So, while staying at Manava Beach Resort, expect to see canyons, walls, a grotto, passages, and coral reefs. Fish and reef life may be more abundant on Bora Bora, but the lemon sharks seem to be bigger here on Mo’orea, and at Tao Toi they have a sting ray feeding display.
Rays Corridor is a drift dive through the lagoon that you can’t pass up on either.
