Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus Diving
Dressel Divers in the name of the scuba diving shop located on the resort grounds. So, they offer one or two tank boat dives in the morning as well as one tank boat dives throughout the afternoon. In addition, they have snorkeling packages available too. Most trips are 10 minutes away from Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus. Scuba diving is not part of the all-inclusive program however, Nitrox is free for those who are enriched air or nitrox certified. They also have instructors for teaching basic pool skills up to completing full certifications. Saona Island, Catalina Island and Bacardi Island are close by.
More importantly, you can dive St. George shipwreck that goes down to 100ft or the Atlantic Princess wreck at 40ft. On Coco Reef you can view the reef or do a dive over at the coral nursery where little branches of coral are growing. Tan colored turtles, blue colored schools of small fish, and multi-colored sponges and coral await you. Moray eels and eagle rays are literally spotted on every dive.
Attractions and Activities
At Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus there are five restaurants to choose from. So, the El Ingenio buffet is open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The other restaurants serve a la cart entries with French Japanese, or Mexican cuisine for dinner, La Spiaggia Buffet and Italian steak house is open for dinner and lunch as well. More importantly, please make reservations as you check into the hotel to ensure seating at the a la cart venues. Keep in mind, that Formal attire is required at El Colonial (The French restaurant). However, casual is the dress of the day for the other venues.
For snacks you can visit La Sombrita snack Bar, or La Sirena Pool Bar. So, there are five other bars on the property including Captain Nemo’s night club, Trapiche Lobby Bar, Los Arcos Theater Bar, Faro Bar “the Lighthouse Bar”, and Starcafe. For activities, they have a very well laid out kid’s camp. They also have five pools, lots of loungers, and a fitness center. A wedding on the beach is popular to do here. Finally, you can windsurf, sail a hobby cat, ride an inflatable big banana, or go parasailing.
