Tioman Dive Resort Diving
The top scuba diving spot requested out here is a pinnacle dive called Tiger Reef. Golden Reef and Magician Rock are very popular drift dive sites. So, for caves, caverns and tunnels there is Labas Island. Fan Canyon, Kador Bay, One Tree Bay, and Chebeh Island have lots of sealife and interesting topography. Expect to encounter bat fish to bumphead parrotfish, nurse sharks to napoleon wrasse, and yellow fusiliers to yellowtail barracudas. More importantly, Tioman Dive Resort House Reef is right in front at the water's edge and goes straight from a rocky shore to corals. So, for wrecks they have the KM Sipadan and the Sawadee. At the end of the day, the Salang village jetty, and Renggis and Soyak Islands are great night dive spots.
B&J Diving Center is adjacent to Tioman Dive Resort. This scuba diving facility has top of the line dive gear for sale and rental, including Tech dive gear. Moreover, they are the only dive shop on Tioman Island that fills, Nitrox, Oxygen, and Helium blends. They have three boats for taking divers out to some 30 dive sites around the 8 adjacent islands. Their two 40ft long wave rider boats carry up to 20 divers each, and their 55ft long boat holds 18 divers. Lastly, B&J Diving Center is a GoEco operator, GreenFins Member and Project AWARE award winner. There is a strict no glove, no touch policy out here.
Attractions and Activities
Tioman Dive Resort has their own deep pool for dive training. They have the B&J Bar onsite, but they don't have a restaurant. So, several restaurants are nearby and usually open after the first morning dive. The nearest sandy beach is 7- 10 minutes away near the ABC jetty/pier. There are a few waterfalls to hike, and Monkey Beach is the perfect place to relax in the sand. There are also two turtle hatching centers to visit. Finally, watching the sunset is also a major activity out here.
