We had an incredible time on the Cocos Island Aggressor at the end of January. We celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday and my 500th dive during the trip.
Although El Niño has affected the water temps and the number of sharks we saw wasn’t as many as normal, we still got to see hammers, tigers, Galapagos, oceanic black tips, a couple of mantas (during my 500th dive!), eagle and marble rays, and huge schools of fish including more jacks than I’ve ever seen schooling together at one time.
The ship was spacious, the crew of the Aggressor was top notch, and our dive guides Warren and Carlos made sure we were safe and able to maximize our bottom time, all while getting to see as much of the big stuff as possible. We also had a zodiac tour around the entire island, as well as landed at the beach of the ranger station to see what life is like on the island for the rangers and volunteers.
