About The Reef Playacar
The Reef Playacar has 196 rooms and is located in Playa del Carmen; part of the Maya Riviera, in the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The resort has a jungle canopy cenote theme with wooden walkways and railed paths. Many scuba diving guests prefer the jungle view looking at a cenote or waterfall. Reef Playacar Diving
The scuba diving resort works with Reef Marine Dive Center and their one-stop shop for all things aquatic including snorkeling excursions. More importantly, there are 18 dive sites off the local coastline and over 40 sites total along the Maya Riveira. So, Reef Marine does two-tank morning dives and two-tank afternoon dives. They also rent a wide variety of water equipment. Some of the ocean dive sites near Reef Playacar include: Chun Zumbul, Pared Verde, Barracuda, Tortugas, or the shrimp boat Mama Viña. Furthermore, you can even take a day trip over to Cozumel. Here you can dive Palancar Reef or Santa Rosa Reef with some of the nearby dive shops. Best of all, there are several cenotes close by where you can dive and see Mayan artifacts, marine fossils, stalactites and stalagmites. So Gran Cenote has the easiest entrance. Nearby Scuba Freedom specializes in cenote diving.
Attractions and Activities
The Reef Playacar features two dining restaurants with dress codes. Moreover, the Botticelli features Italian food, the Terraza has Mexican cuisine, and the Chulavista is buffet style for breakfast lunch and dinner. Furthermore, if still hungry, stop by the Deli Snack Bar in the pool area. Oh, and don't miss the Ice cream parlor near the waterfall or the tea house next to the natural Cenote.
For adult beverages, drift or float over to the Azul 48 swim up bar, there is Papo's Bar, La Chiquita is open by the beach till sunset, Nico's is near the beach and open with music in the evening, and La Cascada is next to the lobby. There are two swimming pools onsite. You can also take the bicycles out for a spin. Even more, visit the gym and fitness center, walk on the beach or in to town, or enjoy and relax at the Spa.
